you should be able to purchase a bible if you want it, and you should be able to read the bible if you want to do that. the nirv, more than any other version, offers the ability to read the bible where you want and how you want, and to do that affordably. if you see information on the internet that suggests that you can access the bible for free then i say to you, that is not the case! you can read the bible for free in your browser, but you can't purchase it in a free format. the data for the nirv has been available online for the past 10 years.
if you want to download an e-version of the bible for offline use, you should consider supporting the projects who provide these bible teaching resources. these resources are all offered freely. i ask you to consider a donation to these projects and to the nonprofit organizations who are already serving. their work is not financed by advertising and they don't take donations directly.
the nirv project, for example, is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization and is funded completely by your donations and the sales of christian books. to make a donation, you can do so through paypal or by check.
what is new in the bible.. haggai is the primary source which the new prophet, zechariah, makes references to and expounds upon. the passage found in zechariah contained in the torah which explains the reading of the torah by god to moses on mount horeb. zechariah 12:1-9 illustrates this passage - "thus said the lord to me: "go and tell my people, 'hear the word of the lord, o children of israel. for by the coming of the lord the lord will make a distinction among you and your brethren, like the difference between one sheep and a goat. the poor and the rich alike will stand on the same ground. there will be no superiority for one and no inferiority for another. they will continue to be judges in israel. and all the people of the land will be taught by god's laws."' when you have been keeping the sabbath day, observing the sabbath year by year, and your lands are de-eded, if you did anything wrong or wrongfully claimed more land than you should, only for that reason you should be put to death. your lands must be returned to the person who bought them back. but if a person should fail to return the land, he will be put to death; his blood will be on his own head.' this is the word which the lord proclaimed through haggai the prophet, the lord's messenger, "days are coming", "the lord will make a distinction, and will make a difference between you and your brothers." "a law will be issued to all the people, to the person who is recorded in the land." (blessings the lord, indeed, he's forgiving, merciful, and forgiving.)"
