Now, Netflix is aiming to revisit this gruesome time by recreating the series known as Bastard!! which first hit the scene in 1988. With the series set to arrive this year, Bastard!! has revealed when fans can expect Dark Schneider to return and how many episodes will make up the first season of the series.

Directing the new Bastard anime adaptation will be Takaharu Ozaki (Goblin Slayer), with scripts being written by Yosuke Kuroda (My Hero Academia), character designs by Sayaka Ono (Gintama: The Movie) and music composition by Yasuharu Takanashi (Fairy Tail).
A few years back, Netflix had a weak portfolio when it came to anime. But today, almost every top-tier anime is available on the streaming platform. In fact, now the service is joining hands with the Japanese creators to develop the Netflix Original anime series. Bastard!! is a big name in the dark fantasy and sword and sorcery genre. Although its manga has been running since March 1988 with 24 volumes in total, it's the first time we will be watching its proper anime series. Now that Bastard!! - Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy is coming close to its official release; here's every information you need regarding the show's arrival.
The anime is set in a post-apocalyptic world where humans are threatened by all kinds of strange monsters. Moreover, the evil forces threaten to resurrect Anthrasax, the god of destruction. Now, only an even more evil entity can only save humans, so the Kingdom of Metallicana summons a dark wizard for their help.
We're just a day away from the premiere of the BASTARD!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy- anime, which brings a new adaptation of Kazushi Hagiwara's dark fantasy manga to Netflix on June 30. Ahead of that, the opening movie is on full, slightly NSFW (mostly Dark Schneider's butt) display.
House of the Dragon season 1, episode 9 introduces a child who is, reportedly, one of Aegon's bastards. This is likely Gaemon Palehair, or at least setting him up. In the book, Gaemon is claimed to be Aegon's bastard son with a woman named Essie, who worked at a brothel in King's Landing. After Aegon leaves the city, Gaemon is raised at the brothel as though he were to be King, and eventually he does amass a considerable following of those who see him the rightful monarch, despite being a bastard and a child. When King Aegon returns, he spares Gaemon because of his young age; he eventually becomes a friend of Aegon's nephew, Rhaenyra and Daemon's son Aegon, who becomes King Aegon III.
In Back to Olympus, Zeus's wife Hera stated that he was one of Zeus's bastards. Afterwards, Zeus took Heron and his mother to a village to hide away in. Upon their arrival, he covered the village in storm clouds to protect Heron and Electra from Hera's gaze. This resulted in the villagers' ostracism of them, as they believed Electra and Heron to be the cause of this seemingly bad omen. To keep watch over Heron and his mother, Zeus assumed the identity of an elderly mortal man named Elias. As Elias he did his best to care for them, giving them food when he could, telling Heron stories of the gods, and even caring for Heron's arm after he'd managed to break it.At some point in his childhood, a group of boys attacked Heron, resulting in a scar over his left eye.
On Olympus, the gods start to whisper that Heron is Zeus' bastard son and are not happy, however Hermes and then Apollo and Artemis welcome him. Hera arrives angry that he brought Heron and Zeus explains that the war, the demons and everything is his fault. He promises he will remain faithful to her and asks for forgiveness, and Hera is willing to accept it only if Heron dies. As he can't do that, Hera takes the other gods and leave. Zeus warns Poseidon that only a fool would trust her, but Poseidon replies that only a fool would anger her.
