Phishing vs. Smishing — have you ever been targeted?
Hey folks, I got a weird message last week that looked like it was from my bank — said there was an “urgent issue” with my account and to click a link to fix it. At first I almost did, but something felt off so I searched for info on how to tell real messages from scams. I came across this article that explains the difference between phishing and smishing and has tips on how to protect yourself: Phishing & Smishing: The Difference and How to Protect Yourself. It helped me realize that scams don’t always come by email — sometimes they hit your phone too. Has anyone else run into these kinds of scams, and how did you deal with them?

Interesting topic — I’ve had some suspicious texts claiming I won a contest I never entered. I usually ignore and delete right away, but what helped me was telling friends and family about what to watch for, so we all flag shady messages and don’t fall for them. It’s wild how convincing some of these scam messages can be until you know what the red flags look like.
